From leader of the U-19 World Cup-winning team to leading run-scorer in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Virat Kohli's path with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) highlights both his loyalty and evolving market worth in the league.

Soon after guiding India to a U-19 World Cup triumph, Kohli was bought by RCB for INR 12 lakh. He kept his pay the same as he started his IPL career during his first three seasons, 2008–2010.

2011 saw his first notable pay rise as RCB saw his brilliance and kept him for INR 8.28 crore. He was named full-time captain in 2013; his pay increased to INR 12.5 crore the next season.
