Rumours and Speculations are rife as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to announce the man next in line for the head coach of the Indian Cricket Team. With Rahul Dravid all set to step down after the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, the buzz is at an all-time high and anticipation grows on who will be the one appointed for the role. One of the frontrunners, Gautam Gambhir, has been a fan-favourite as he led KKR towards a dominant title win at the IPL 2024 season. But unlike the fans, it looks like former India skipper Sourav Ganguly has made an indirect hint over Gambhir's rumoured appointment as the coach.

Sourav Ganguly hands out a signal to BCCI amid the Team India coaching job buzz

Former BCCI president and Team India captain Sourav Ganguly issued a subliminal signal to the Indian Cricket Board as he encouraged the administrators to make a well-informed decision on the next India coach. Ganguly emphasised the importance of having a competent coach.

"The coach's significance in one's life, their guidance, and relentless training shape the future of any person, both on and off the field. So choose the coach and institution wisely…" said Ganguly on social media platform X (Formerly Twitter).

The remarks from the former captain of India coincide with the news that Gautam Gambhir, the mentor of the Kolkata Knight Riders, is the clear favourite to succeed Rahul Dravid as India's head coach following the T20 World Cup 2024 in the United States and the Caribbean Islands.

However, it is critical to remember that Ganguly's relationship with former India coach Greg Chappel ended up being strained, which led to the batter being sacked from captaincy. He knows that a coach is vital in making or breaking the side, and he wants the BCCI to make an ideal decision for the team to flourish in the future.
