Jasprit Bumrah is back in training with blistering yorkers ahead of the Test series
The 2023 World Cup Final ended, and Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah took a little break before returning to training. Bumrah is rested for the white-ball series against South Africa and missed the T20I series against Australia despite being one of the tournament's best performers. He is expected to return in the next two Test matches, which start on December 26.
One of the best bowlers in the world, Bumrah, demonstrated his abilities in the white-ball format after recovering from back surgery. After serving as the team's captain during the Ireland T20I series, he excelled at the 2023 World Cup. Notably, Bumrah displayed incredible technique in the final round versus Australia and was unlucky not to remove Travis Head, who went on to win Player of the Match in the summit match.
Bumrah hasn't played red-ball cricket since July 2022, when he took on England. Ben Stokes' England side defeated the team that Bumrah captained during that Test match when Rohit Sharma was away.
Before the Test series against South Africa, Bumrah is shown on camera demonstrating his dedication and energy while working out with the red ball in an Instagram video. India has yet to win a Test series in South Africa, so they are hoping for a solid showing against the Proteas. India lost 2-1 in a hard-fought series during their previous tour.
