Jasprit Bumrah is still recovering from a lower back injury which he sustained before the series against South Africa. The injury prompted him to be left out of the Indian squad from the ongoing home season. Bumrah is hitting the gym and training hard to come back stronger. He had recently posted a couple of pictures where he was dressed in formal attire and in the other one, he was seen enjoying his time by the sea. Lately, the young pacer has posted a throwback picture on the occasion of Children's Day.

On the occasion of Children's Day, Jasprit Bumrah posted a throwback picture where his mother Daljit Bumrah can be seen holding a little Jasprit in her arms. Bumrah also wrote that his hair was messier then but his mother being by his side is constant. The speedster then wished everyone a happy Children's Day.

According to media reports, sources in the BCCI have revealed that Jasprit Bumrah is on auto-healing mode and is on the track of proper recovery. The source said that Jasprit Bumrah has begun light exercises alongside running and said that he will be assessed after Diwali. India's bowling coach Bharat Arun said he was expecting Jasprit Bumrah to return for the series against New Zealand and clarified that Jasprit Bumrah does not require surgery, according to media reports. Jasprit Bumrah had suffered from a similar stress fracture earlier which had healed naturally, just like this one. Meanwhile, in the recently released ICC ODI rankings, Bumrah has retained the 'Numero Uno' spot in the bowlers' rankings while his skipper Virat Kohli has retained the top spot in batsmen's rankings.
