Jimmy Neesham on facing England post 2019 World Cup final loss

Jimmy Neesham made a strong comeback this year which includes an impressive performance at the World Cup 2019 where he scored 232 runs and picked up 15 wickets.

The last time Jimmy Neesham played for New Zealand against England, the Kiwis lost to Eoin Morgan's side in the dramatic final of the ICC 2019 World Cup. Neesham, who has been out of the national set-up for a year and a half, made a strong comeback which includes an impressive performance at the 2019 World Cup where he scored 232 runs and picked up 15 wickets.

During his time away from the national set-up, the all-rounder played T20 tournaments in Canada and West Indies to keep him in the right shape. On his comeback into the New Zealand squad, Neesham scored  42 runs during the Black Caps' 21-run win in the second T20I against England on Sunday at Westpac Stadium.

Jimmy Neesham on facing England yet again

Speaking to the media in New Zealand, Neesham said that the World Cup will always be part of the fabric of his career but it's certainly not something he is hoping defines his career. He also said playing England again so soon brings up those questions again but it was a phenomenal effort by the team in that tournament and all the guys can be proud of the efforts put on the field.

Jimmy Neesham has now set his sight on getting selected for the T20 World Cup. He said that he wants to play every game for New Zealand and he's at that stage of his career where he feels like he has started to get things together.

Hosts New Zealand beat England by 14 runs to take a 2-1 lead in the five-match T20 series on Tuesday at the Saxton Oval, Nelson. Chasing a target of 181 runs, England fell short of their target by 14 runs at the end of 20 overs, handing the Kiwis a much-needed win.
