BCCI has brought forward a star-studded 16-member Team India squad for the upcoming 3-match T20I series against Afghanistan. The series will mark the return of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the international realm of the T20 format, and along with them, Sanju Samson has also been given a spot in the team. The series is scheduled to start on January 11, 2024.

Sanju Samson returns to Team India's T20 side
Following a long string of in and out from the team, Sanju Samson has seemingly earned the trust of the selectors and has finally been given a slot in the T20 side again. Samson wasn't a part of the T20I side that recently played in South Africa, and neither he was included in the 5-match 20-20 affair that took place back home following the conclusion of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. However, Samson did receive some play time in the 50-over format in South Africa, and there he made the most of the opportunity and registered a ton in the third and final ODI of the series.
Courtesy of that knock, which helped India win the series against Proteas 2-1, Samson has rendered a birth in the T20I squad as well.
