India's 2019 World Cup star announces retirement from all forms of cricket in MS Dhoni's style
Indian cricketer took to his social media handles and announced his retirement mirroring MS Dhoni's retirement, 'From 1500 hrs. Consider me as retired'.
Indian cricketer and former Chennai Super Kings batter Kedar Jadhav has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on Monday, June 3rd, 2024.
Kedar Jadhav took to his social media handles and announced his retirement mirroring MS Dhoni's retirement statement, “Thank you all For your love and support throughout my Career from 1500 hrs. Consider me as retired from all forms of cricket".
In a heartfelt post on Instagram, Kedar Jadhav shared a slideshow of some of the memorable moments of his cricketing career mirroring MS Dhoni's retirement from Indian Cricket Team back in 2020. MS Dhoni during his retirement wrote, ""Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout. From 1929 hrs consider me as retired".
Kedar Jadhav's Career with Team India
The 39 year old player is fondly remembered by Indian fans for anchoring India's lower middle order for years and his knack of bowling off spin which produced numerous crucial breakthroughs for India.
He represented the men in blue in 73 ODIs and 9 T20Is. While his T20 career with Team India wasn't that memorable it was in ODIs that he made a mark.
Perhaps his most successful outing was back in Asia Cup final in 2018 when he led India to a thrilling three wicket over Bangladesh and also picked up two wickets with the ball in hand. He was also part of the 2019 ODI World Cup squad for Team India.
In 73 ODI games for Team India, Kedar Jadhav scored 1020 runs with an average of 37.78 and picked up 27 wickets as well. He played his last game for India in 2020 against New Zealand in Auckland.
Kedar Jadhav's IPL Career
Kedar Jadhav made his debut in IPL with the then Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) before moving to Royal Challengers Bengaluru and then finally finding a settled home in Chennai Super Kings in 2018.
Jadhav was part of CSK's IPL winning squad in 2018 but missed the majority of campaign due to a hamstring injury. However, the very next year he bounced back and was integral for CSK as they reached the finals once again but lost to Mumbai Indians.
Jadhav played a total of 93 IPL games and scored 1196 runs at a strike rate of 123.17. His highest score was of 69.
