KKR rope in Kyle Mills as Bowling Coach, Hussey as Chief Mentor
After McCullum was roped in as head coach, Kolkata Knight Riders have appointed Kyle Mills as new bowling coach while David Hussey has joined as chief mentor
Kolkata Knight Riders are one of the most successful teams of the Indian Premier League (IPL). While Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings (3) have the most number of titles, even KKR have managed to win two titles. KKR along with the Hyderabad franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad (2016) and the now-defunct Deccan Chargers (2009) are the only teams to have won the IPL trophy on more than one occasion. The Knight Riders who were seen as the favorites in the 2019 edition made an early exit from the tournament. However, the Shah Rukh Khan owned franchise has recruited some important people in their personnel.
Kyle Mills named as the bowling coach
After Brendon McCullum was roped in as the head coach by the Kolkata franchise, his countryman and former pacer Kyle Mills has been appointed as the new bowling coach of the two-time winners. In addition to Mills, Kolkata Knight Riders have hired former Australian cricketer David Hussey as the chief mentor. Now, both the new recruits will be working under the new head coach Brendon McCullum. This news was confirmed by Kolkata Knight Riders on their official Twitter handle. Take a look.
Meanwhile, KKR CEO and MD Venky Mysore has welcomed David Hussey and Kyle Mills to the Kolkata Knight Riders family by saying that the duo brings a wealth of experience as professionals and that they are terrific individuals. Mysore also added that the franchise is confident that their contribution as part of the think tank of KKR and to the KKR Academy will be invaluable.
