Pressure Mounts On BCCI! ICC Seeks Valid Explanation On Not Sending Team To PAK For CT 25 | Reports
Reports are stating that the ICC is requesting a written explanation from the BCCI regarding their refusal to send Team India, as PAK starts to promote CT 2025.
As the Champions Trophy nears, the controversy continues to stir up as Team India may not travel to Pakistan for the marquee ICC tournament in 2025. Tensions continue to rise as India's denial to travel has put the ICC and PCB in a cluttered situation. While India remains steadfast over the fact that they are not keen on sending the team to the neighbouring country, the International Cricket Board has now come into action. It is seeking a proper response from the BCCI on not sending Team India to the prestigious ICC tournament in PAK.
ICC Seeks Valid Response From BCCI Over Team India Not Traveling To Pakistan For Champions Trophy | Reports
As Pakistan begins to hype the upcoming Champions Trophy tournament, reports from Geo News are stating that the International Cricket Council (ICC) is seeking a written explanation from the BCCI over their denial for Team India's travel to PAK. The development has come to light after the BCCI verbally informed the ICC regarding their decision to not send the Men in Blue for CT 2025. Citing 'security concerns,' India has steadfastly maintained its position against going to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy. PCB is seeking a copy of India's response from the ICC as a response.
"In case of receiving a written reply, Pakistan may seek substantial evidence supporting the reasons," the reports stated.
Reports also add that after considering the reasons sent by the BCCI, the ICC would then need to make a final ruling regarding Team India's participation. Should India decline to visit Pakistan for any reason, the mega event may be replaced by another team.

The Pakistan Cricket Board had the option of hosting the Champions Trophy 2025 in a hybrid model, the same way they did in 2023 when Team India's matches and the final were held in Sri Lanka. However, PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi has played down the scenario, saying that no talks have been made about implementing the model. It is yet to be seen on what happens next, and whether Team India travels to Pakistan or not.
