‘It takes a lot of guts and brain, which Kohli has instilled in the team’- Harbhajan Singh
Harbhajan Singh took the example of India winning the Border-Gavaskar tournament as an example to show Kohli's greatness as a test captain.
"You may not have won a World Cup under Kohli's captaincy but it doesn't make him a lesser captain or lesser player. The fire that he ignited in the team, like it may be a target of 400 in the fourth innings of a Test, we'll go for the chase, we won't panic. If we go down, we do it while chasing. It takes a lot of guts and brain, which Kohli has instilled in the team," said Harbhajan Singh.
India won the 2018-19 BGT under Kohli's captaincy.
Virat Kohli 's Effect Even When He Is Not There
During the 2020-21 Border Gavaskar series, Virat Kohli had led the Indian team in the first test match which India lost. After which Virat Kohli had pulled out of the series for the birth of his son. India pulled of a wonderful comeback to win that series 2-1.
"The determination to fight till the end, which Shubman (Gill) and Rishabh ( Pant) showed to win that Test in Gabba. It was because the way the team's thinking changed," said Harbhajan Singh giving credit to Virat Kohli for instilling that fighting spirit within the team.
