Following Australia's triumph over Pakistan in the 2nd Test match at Melbourne Cricket Ground on Friday, December 29, star pacer Mitchell Starc made a little fan's day by handing him his signature sneakers. Australia defeated Pakistan by 79 runs in the Boxing Day Test, allowing the hosts to win the three-match series.

Mitchell Starc makes the day of a fan

Pat Cummins-led Australian team had a great year, winning the World Test Championship final, the ODI World Cup final, retaining the Ashes, and winning the home Test series against Pakistan.

After the lunch break on Day 4, Starc promised the fan that if the team managed to take all the wickets before the end of the day, he would give him his signed shoes. Fortunately for the fan, the hosts managed to bundle out Pakistan. Cummins stole the stage with a 10-wicket haul in the Test match.

This heartfelt moment was captured on camera and widely shared on social media platforms. Starc delivered on his promise in the video, bringing joy to the young admirer. The footage shows Starc handing away his shoes to the youngster following the Boxing Day Test match win.

Australia got the better of Pakistan

The visitors fought hard throughout the second Test match, but Australia capitalized on key moments throughout the four days of play. Pakistan were chasing 317 runs in the final innings on Day 4 of the 2nd Test match. Shan Masood and Babar Azam shared a crucial 61-run partnership. Agha Salman and Mohammad Rizwan's 57-run partnership cut the target down to 100, but it wasn't enough as the Australian pacers proved to be too good for the Pak batters. Pakistan bundled out at 237 runs.
