On social media platform X [Formerly Twitter], Mohammed Kaif responded to Shreyas Iyer's critics with the statement that the star cricketer has strengthened his position in the Indian Cricket squad with his energetic style and versatile batting.

'Shreyas Iyer has had a phenomenal run recently and it should be appreciated. High time the world starts talking about his strengths and not keep pointing to his weakness. @ShreyasIyer15.'

How good was Shreyas Iyer in the ODI WC & IND-AUS T20I series?

Shreyas Iyer showed up and showed out during India's run in the ODI World Cup 2023. In the ODI format game, the cricketer had a fairly good run as he amassed 530 runs as Team India stood as the runners-up in the prestigious tournament.

Coming off the World Cup, Iyer was a part of the IND vs AUS T20I Series, where he joined in the final two games of the series. While he failed to make an impact in the 4th game, Iyer made a rebound and lifted India's score in the fifth game with a brilliant 53-run knock.

Iyer is certainly not out of the game and he can be deemed as a reliable top-order batter of the Indian Cricket Team.
