MS Dhoni to lead CSK in IPL 2024

The 42-year-old retired from the Test in 2014 but continued to play the other formats till 2020. Known as one of the most intelligent cricketing minds, Dhoni has continued his stride in the cash-rich league with utmost success and IPL 2024 could be his last dance on this stage. The player has maintained his distance from the limelight and has been spending most of his time with his family.

MS Dhoni reveals his post-retirement plans

Dhoni who also has been conferred the honorary Lieutenant Colonel rank in the Territorial Army recently shed light on his post-retirement plans. He said he wants to spend more time with the Indian Army after he completely hangs up his boots. While answering to a fan question at an event, he said, “I have never thought about it. I am still playing cricket. IPL I am still playing. It will be very interesting to see what I end up doing after cricket. I think for sure, I want to spend a bit more time with the Army because last few years I have not been able to do that."

Chennai had a pretty solid day at the IPL auction as they picked up the likes of Daryl Mitchell, Rachin Ravindra, Sameer Rizvi and Shardul Thakur to strengthen their ranks. A sixth IPL title would be a fitting tribute to Dhoni if he is to leave the IPL on a high note.
