Australia cruised to a seven-wicket win over Pakistan in the second T20 at the Manuka Oval, Canberra, thanks to Steve Smith, who led Australia's run-chase. Chasing a target of 151 runs, Steve Smith announced his comeback to the T20 side in style with flamboyance as he smashed 11 fours and a six en route to his knock of 80 runs off 51 balls. After rain forced the first T20 to be abandoned shortly after it commenced, Pakistan were hoping to maintain their dominance in the shortest format of the game but failed to do so, courtesy to Steve Smith and his role of playing saviour for Australia once again. Australia have now assumed a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
Netizens hail Steve Smith

Pakistan hoping to rediscover their rhythm
Pakistan, who are currently the top-ranked T20I side have not had a good time in the game's shortest format so far. In fact, they have not won any T20I series this year. After winning 11 consecutive T20I series under the captaincy of Sarfaraz Ahmed, Pakistan had lost an away series against South Africa earlier this year and were whitewashed at home by Sri Lanka recently after which Sarfaraz was sacked from captaincy and was replaced by Babar Azam in the shortest format. Meanwhile, Pakistan will be looking to make amends in the ongoing series and prove why they are the number one T20I side.
