'I don't think it will be resolved': Pakistan Coach Jason Gillespie Highlights Big Issue With PCB

The problems with Pakistan cricket are just never-ending. Be it their performances on the field or frequent change in leadership duties, Pakistan cricket never falls short of creating controversies. Their current biggest cricket icon Babar Azam is himself under the scanner due to his batting and leadership skills. The Pakistan cricket team crashed out of the T20 World Cup from the group stage and this created a lot of stir in the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Jason Gillespie Highlights A Big Issue With Pakistan Cricket

The Pakistan cricket team is due to play nine Test matches over the period of next five months. After the happenings in the USA, the Pakistan team seems to be struggling. They are in dire need to sort out their attitude towards the game, their cricketing culture and also their intent and identity.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has roped in Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillespie to bail the team out of the tough times. Gillespie time and again has expressed that he is fully committed towards Pakistan and their improvement in the sport. The former Australian quick also said that he wants the team and the individuals involved to have more clarity going forward.

"The identity will sort itself out. I don't think that will be resolved right now. It will be a process to figure out exactly what surfaces we want to play on going forward. We need to be flexible and adaptable, but we'll certainly have a basic blueprint on how we want to play our games', said  Gillespie in a PCB podcast.

Pakistan's Struggles In ICC Events

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) organized a military training for the team ahead of the T20 World Cup. Though the team did not do well in the ICC event, they were brutally trolled for their preparations. Pakistan displayed weak performances in the 2023 ODI World Cup and the 2024 T20 World Cup. Their next appearance in an ICC event will come next year in the Champions Trophy.
