PCB vs BCCI: How Mohsin Naqvi's PC Has Done More Bad Than Good Ahead of ICC Champions Trophy 2025
Amid all kinds of speculations over the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi addressed the press.
Amid all kinds of speculations over the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi addressed the press. Naqvi was hurled pertinent questions on the Champions Trophy and he tried his best to give as much clarity as possible. Making Pakistan 's stand clear, Naqvi said that they will not accept the ‘hybrid’ model. And for the unversed, India has already refused to travel to Pakistan for the mega event. Now what happens? The PCB has asked the ICC a few questions over what is India's problem in travelling across the border. There is no response from the ICC yet. Multiple reports claim the PCB has also gone on to accuse the BCCI of asking other boards to refuse travelling to Pakistan as well.
"If India has any concerns about sending their team to Pakistan they must talk to us and we will remove them. I don't think there is any reason for India not to come to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy," PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi told reporters on Monday.
IT IS ALL ABOUT MONEY, HONEY
The Pakistan board knows very well that the BCCI is one of the biggest revenue holders with the ICC. And hence for the ICC to not side up with the BCCI could be detrimental for the game at large. Can the tournament happen without India? No. If that happens, the ICC or the PCB will not be able to maximise revenues.
CT 25 SCHEDULE
As per reports, the ICC, in consultation with the PCB, will release the schedule for the mega event by the end of the week. It would be interesting to see what eventually happens. In all probability, PCB will eventually agree to the ‘hybrid’ model.
