The 23-year-old demonstrated a step in the right direction during a warm-up match for Northamptonshire 2nd XI as he scored a magnificent 65 off just 39 balls. Shaw is expected to make his debut for the side against Gloucestershire in Cheltenham in the One-Day Cup on Friday.

Earlier, Shaw had faced a setback in IPL 2023, losing his place in the Delhi Capitals' starting XI due to a series of low scores in the first half of the tournament. Shaw last featured for India in a T20I match against Sri Lanka in July 2021.
