Dindigul Dragons emerged victorious against Lyca Kovai Kings in the thrilling Tamil Nadu Premier League 2024 Final, clinching the title with a commanding six-wicket win and 10 balls to spare. Led by the outstanding performance of Ravichandran Ashwin, who was not only awarded the Player of the Match for his impressive display with both ball and bat but also he was one of the best players throughout the tournament, the Dragons restricted the Kovai Kings to a score of 129/7. In response, Ashwin's powerful 52 runs, backed by Baba Indrajith's 32 and Sarath Kumar's 27 not out, secured the title for the Dragons in a match characterized by stellar performances in the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

R Ashwin leads Dindigul Dragons to glory in the TNPL 2024 Final vs Lyca Kovai Kings
Held on Sunday, August 4, at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Dindigul Dragons skipper Ravichandran Ashwin blasted an outstanding six over the bowler's head during the final of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL). Lyca Kovai Kings faced Dindigul Dragons in the last match.
Seeking a target of 130, the Dragons fell their initial wicket in the second over of the game. Stepping in at No. 3, Ravichandran Ashwin faced his fourth delivery and deftly struck the ball from outside off clean over the bowler's head for a six.
Ravichandran Ashwin, the captain of the Dindigul Dragons, continued his impressive performance from Qualifier 2 by scoring 69 runs off 30 balls. Ashwin exhibited a consistent performance in the final, achieving a score of 52 runs from 46 balls. This included one boundary and three sixes, significantly contributing to his team's progress towards victory.
Baba Indrajith made a significant contribution of 32 runs, while C Sarath Kumar played a critical role by scoring 27 runs off 15 balls in the last stages, which ultimately helped the side achieve victory. The Dindigul Dragons became victorious by achieving a six-wicket win with 10 balls remaining, so capturing their inaugural TNPL championship.
