Rajat Patidar Smashes Sensational Record At Chepauk, Becomes Second RCB Captain After Rahul Dravid To Achieve Monumental Feat

The Rajat Patidar -led Royal Challengers Bengaluru have secured a sensational win over Chennai Super Kings at the Chepauk in IPL on Friday.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru have finally managed to breach the Chepauk fortress with a 50-run win over Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025. This is RCB's second win on a trot this season.

Rajat Patidar Creates Sensational Record At Chepauk

Rajat Patidar has now guided RCB to a win over CSK at the Chepauk after a gap of 17 years. He became the second captain after Rahul Dravid to achieve this monumental feat. RCB have remained at the top of the table with four points alongside a healthy run rate of 2.266.

RCB Showed All-Round Effort Against CSK

Batting first, RCB rode on skipper Rajat Patidar's valiant 51 to post 196 on the board. Virat Kohli failed to shine with the bat, but it was Tim David's late cameo which put the away side in the driver's seat. CSK never looked in control from the beginning and kept losing wickets on regular occasions. Rachin Ravindra was the lone warrior, but he too ran out of partners at the end. MS Dhoni arrived at the crease pretty late and tried to rescue his team with a late smash and hit process.

But it was too late for the home side and they were crashed to their first home defeat of this season. After the matchRCB captain Rajat Patidar reflected on his side's sensational win over the five time champions. As quoted by ESPN Cricinfo, he said, “If I talk about this match, it was a good total on this surface because ball was stopping a bit and it wasn't easy for batters to hit fours and sixes.”

The RCB captain also appreciated the Che[auk crowd for consistently backing their team in the stadium. It's always special playing in Chepauk because of the fans, the way they support their teams."

CSK will now take on the Rajasthan Royals , while RCB face off against the Gujarat Titans in their next game.
