Ravichandran Ashwin is on the cusp of another milestone when India take on New Zealand in the Test series. Ashwin, who is India's premier spinner, needs three more wickets to become the highest wicket-taker in the history of World Test Championships. Currently, Australia's Nathan Lyon is on top of the tree in this list, Ashwin is just three behind.
Highest Wicket-Takers in History of WTC
Nathan Lyon (Australia) – 187
Ravichandran Ashwin (India) – 185
Pat Cummins (Australia) – 175
Mitchell Starc (Australia) – 147
Stuart Broad (England) – 134
Also, if Ashwin takes 15 wickets in the three-match Test series, he becomes the first-ever bowler to pick 200 wickets in the WTC. Ashwin was in top-form during the two-match Test series against Bangladesh where he emerged as the joint-highest wicket-taker with 11 scalps to his name.
