Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25: India suffered a horrific 3-0 series loss against New Zealand in the recently concluded IND vs NZ three-match Test series. This was India's first home Test series loss in 12 years. This series loss has dented India's hopes of playing the World Test Championship (WTC) Final. India's fortunes changed quickly after their stellar Test series victory against Bangladesh which was played just before the New Zealand series.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli , the senior most members of the Indian team have been called out due to their lacklustre batting and dismal form. None of Rohit or Virat could score a total of 100 runs in the series and this is a huge reason to worry for India. The doors on India's World Test Championship Final (WTC) has virtually been closed, but they still have an outside chance. India have a Herculean task ahead of them, to beat Australia 4-0, in Australia.

'I think India will win a Test match somewhere through the five Test matches. But I still think now, Australia probably look a bit more settled, a bit more experienced and we know that they're a very hard team to beat at home. So I'll stick with the 3-1', said Ponting while speaking on the ICC Review.
