Rinku Singh Should be Released or Retained by KKR Ahead of IPL 2025 Mega Auction?

Rinku Singh has been an integral part of the Kolkata Knight Riders side in the Indian Premier League. But now, with the IPL Mega Auction coming up, there are massive speculations over Rinku. Will KKR retain him or let him go? Ideally, they should not, knowing very well that he is a match-winner. But again, Rinku has expressed his desire to move to Royal Challengers Bangalore. In a recent interaction with a leading media outlet, Rinku was asked which team would he like to go to if KKR would release him. He promptly said RCB because of Virat Kohli. It is no secret that Rinku and Kohli share a good bond. Time and again, Rinku has been spotted taking suggestions from Kohli.

Will KKR Hold Onto Rinku? 

Rinku was first lapped up by KKR for Rs 55 lakh. But that was long time back. One reckons if KKR have to hold him back, they would have to rework his pay check. It would be interesting to see the decision KKR make for Rinku. KKR should ideally look to hold him back because of his impact in the shorter format. 

What Next For Rinku? 

Not long back, the Indian board announced the squads for the Duleep Trophy, which saw a host of current India stars, including KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, and Suryakumar Yadav, among others. However, Rinku's name was missing here, but the batter takes a positive outlook on the snub. Rinku has not played a lot of games in recent times and that has not helped his cause.

Meanwhile, the Indian cricket team recently took on Sri Lanka in a white-ball series. Rinku, who was part of India's T20I squad for the series, did not get among the runs in the limited opportunities he got. Rinku could get back to the domestic grind now, just to get some confidence back.
