Virat Kohli was once again the central talking point of another controversy after former Indian Cricketer and teammate Amit Mishra accused the T20 World Cup 2024 champion for drastically changing after receiving fame and power.

After Amit Mishra threw a shade on Virat Kohli, 2007 T20 World Cup winner with India also opened up on Virat Kohli's change in personality ever since making his debut for Team India.

Robin Uthappa on Virat Kohli's Personality Change

Amidst the suggestion of Virat Kohli drastically changing himself after receiving fame and power, Robin Uthappa did agree that the former Indian skipper did indeed change since making his debut.

However, Robin Uthappa has lauded Virat Kohli for his evolution and said that it only made him a better man.

“I have actually seen Virat kind of evolve from a brash young Delhi boy to an evolved human being. You know the evolution has been quite tremendous, to be honest. Today he's practically reaping what he had sown 15 years ago. One of the things that has always stood out to me about Cheeku has been his conviction in himself,” said Robin Uthappa.

Robin Uthappa further confirmed that the confidence Virat Kohli had in his abilities when he was starting out was scary to listen to but it is what led him to success in his career.

"When I listen to a young 19-year-old Virat Kohli, you know talking about himself or his conviction in himself, you'll get mortified, you'll be like 'What is this dude talking about?'. But fast forward 10 years and you be like 'Okay now that makes sense,” said Robin Uthappa in an interaction with cricket.com.

The entire controversy started when Amit Mishra in his latest interview accused Virat Kohli of changing due to power and fame.

“I have seen Virat change a lot. We had almost stopped talking. When you get fame and power, they think people are reaching out to them for a purpose. I was never one of those,” Amit Mishra had said.
