In a heartwarming revelation, Indian cricketer Sarfaraz Khan has drawn an endearing comparison between Rohit Sharma and Aamir Khan’s iconic character from the film 'Lagaan.' Sarfaraz recently opened up about his experiences playing alongside Rohit Sharma, likening the Indian cricket captain to the nurturing leader portrayed by Aamir Khan in the classic Bollywood film.

In a candid interview with JioCinema, Sarfaraz Khan described Rohit Sharma as someone who exudes a unique blend of approachability and leadership. “Rohit bhai bohot alag hain,” he remarked, translating to “Rohit is very different.” He went on to elaborate, “He makes everyone feel comfortable, like a big brother. It’s always a pleasure to play and watch him. There’s never a sense of hierarchy where you feel, ‘You’re the junior, just follow along.’ It feels like everyone is equal.”
Sarfaraz Khan highlighted Rohit Sharma ’s positive demeanor and the confidence he instills in his teammates. “He’s very positive and straightforward. When he says, ‘Go ahead, do it boldly,’ it boosts our own confidence,” Sarfaraz noted. According to him, Rohit’s relaxed and encouraging attitude creates an environment where players feel empowered and valued.
Drawing a parallel to Aamir Khan’s character in 'Lagaan,' Sarfaraz made an affectionate comparison. “My favorite movie is 'Lagaan,' and just as Aamir Khan’s character built a strong, cohesive team in the film, Rohit bhai has a similar effect on us. For me, he’s like Aamir Khan in that sense. Being with him feels like being with family,” Sarfaraz said.
