Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal put on 72 for the first wicket. Jaiswal was the first one to depart. What added salt to the wound was the unfortunate fashion in which he got out.

Bowlers, Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja picked three wickets apiece. Mohammed Siraj struck two, Jasprit Bumrah , and Ravindra Jadeja snared with one wicket each.
