Rohit Sharma Peaking At The Age Of 37: India Captain's Power Show In SL Lands Babar Azam In Problem
India skipper Rohit Sharma has been in some sensational touch. Sharma was the only India found batter who found some success with the bat in the Sri Lanka ODIs.
ICC Rankings: Rohit Sharma is one of the greatest batters of this generation and there is no doubt about this. Everybody speaks about Rohit's splendid timing and the extra time which he has at his disposal. The India ODI and Test skipper is now a World Cup winning captain too and he continues to scale new heights everyday. At the age of 37, when athletes generally tend to dip, Rohit is conquering new territories and is leaving the world in awe with his batting.
Even if one leaves the three ODI double centuries aside, it is Rohit's knack of delivering on the big stage. In the last two ICC tournaments (2023 ODI World Cup and 2024 T20 World Cup), Sharma has looked his best as he always gave his team the kickstart required in limited over games. Sharma already has two T20 World Cups (2007 and 2024) and one Champions Trophy (2013) in his kitty and now all he might want is the coveted ODI World Cup trophy.

In addition to it all, India ODI and Test skipper Rohit Sharma is challenging Babar Azam for his ODI throne. Courtesy of his sensational performances in the recently concluded ODI series against Sri Lanka, Rohit Sharma has registered a sensational rise in the recently released ICC Rankings.

Rohit Sharma was the only India batter who looked in ease and in his own element during the Sri Lanka tour. Though Rohit did did not return with any sensational scores, but it was his intent that was much talked about. With a total of 765 points, Rohit is now comfortably placed on the second spot of the ICC ODI rankings. He is just behind Pakistan's Babar Azam who is on the first spot with 824 rating points.

Speculations About Rohit Sharma's Domestic Return
Rumour mills are set ablaze with the reports of Rohit Sharma making his Duleep Trophy return. India have a busy Test schedule ahead of them and it is being said that the BCCI wants the Indian players to play the Duleep trophy in order to fine tune their technique. Though there is pin drop silence on it, but if Rohit plays, then he will make his domestic return after a span of eight years.
