‘He Captained India, Batted Well’: Ex-BCCI Selector Points Two Choices as Rohit’s Successor in T20Is
Former BCI Selector Saba Karim has pointed out the ultimate choice to become Rohit Sharma's successor in T20Is, and he has two names in mind.
With Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja retiring from the T20Is, there has been a lot of debate on who will be the man in line who will lead Team India in T20Is as the skipper. With Rohit stepping down, it will be a humongous responsibility for the one who will take over. The BCCI has been building up players as Subhman Gill was handed the reins for the Zimbabwe series, where Team India won 4-1. As the debate escalates, a former selector for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has presented his choice for Rohit Sharma's successor, and he has two men as his ideal solution.

Former BCCI selector narrows two choices as Rohit Sharma's successor in T20Is
During his appearance on Sony Sports, former BCCI selector Saba Karim believes Hardik Pandya is one of the ideal choices as the India skipper in T20I format. But Karim believes that the management may also consider Suryakumar Yadav as the next skipper as he led the team in several T20I matches.
“The first thing that needs to be decided is who will captain in T20Is. Rohit Sharma has retired, he won’t play T20Is. So you will have a new captain. I feel there are two contenders. If we see logically, Hardik Pandya should become the captain because he was the vice-captain in the winning World Cup campaign. He also captained India in the past. I feel the preparation now should be for the next T20 World Cup which is going to happen after two years.
“I feel the discussion should be about SKY because Suryakumar Yadav captained India in the home series against Australia. India defeated Australia there and he also batted well. So he can definitely come forward as an option. If the selectors feel Hardik Pandya has played a fantastic role and can do the same as a captain as well, he can definitely be the ideal candidate. So I feel these are the two contenders,” The former BCCI selector Saba Karim said.
