Rohit Sharma has had a golden year with the bat so far. The Indian opening batsman finished the 2019 World Cup in England as the tournament’s highest run-getter. With 648 runs to his credit, the Indian vice-captain smashed five centuries throughout the 45-day event, including a match-winning ton against arch-rivals Pakistan. The stylish right-handed batsman is also the only player in the world to score three double-centuries in ODI cricket.

Personal life
In April 2015, Rohit Sharma got engaged to his long-time girlfriend Ritika Sajdeh. Before their engagement, Ritika was an Indian sports manager, who managed cricketers. According to reports, the duo used to talk a lot during work where they also became good friends. Their friendship rekindled into a romantic relationship and the couple started dating. After six years of dating, the duo finally tied the knot in 2015 and became parents to their daughter - Samaira.
Earnings outside cricket
Apart from being featured in BCCI’s top-tier earning list, Rohit Sharma also earns through his endorsement deals. Currently, Rohit is associated with a popular watch brand among many other deals. The player has also previously endorsed many popular brands. The star batsman has also shot many commercials for the Indian Premier League.
The philanthropist
The four-time IPL winning captain is also known for his philanthropic activities. Sharma regularly campaigns for children’s health and animal welfare. In the year 2015, he joined a Kenyan-based wild-life campaign in order to save the last of the few surviving animals in Africa. Earlier that same year, the cricketer also joined PETA. A few years later, Sharma became the WWF-India Rhino ambassador.

His off-field success aside, the opening batsman is all set to take charge of the Indian batting line-up once again for the third and final T20I against South Africa. India after winning the second T20I, lead the series 1-0. South Africa, after having a disappointing World Cup, will be in desperate need of a win to level the three-match series. The match will be held at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
