India vs Bangladesh : It was a clinical show by hosts India that helped them beat Bangladesh by 280 runs and take a 1-0 lead in the ongoing two-match Test series. After the convincing, will the management consider changes in the XI for the Test match at Kanpur. In all likelihood, we reckon that Jasprit Bumrah may be rested due to workload management - as India play a lot of Test matches going ahead. So, who comes into the XI if Bumrah is rested? Now, this is a tough one - will a pacer like Yash Dayal get to make his debut or will it be Kuldeep Yadav - the local hero - who would get picked.

AS IT HAPPENED

Veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin 's mastery over his craft, underlined by a six-wicket haul, proved too immense for Bangladesh as India cantered to a massive 280-run victory in the first Test with five sessions to spare.

Maintaining a clean slate against the Asian neighbours, India now lead the two-match series 1-0.

Starting from their overnight 158 for four, Bangladesh were bundled out for 234 in their second innings as Ashwin scythed through their line-up (6/88).

Ravindra Jadeja supported him with a three-wicket haul (3/58).

“Look, I think this pitch, even if you bowl good balls, you will go for runs. But the bounce is going to be quite daunting. The beauty about red soil is you put revs on it, there is value and there is bounce,” Ashwin told reporters in the post-match press meet," POTM Ashwin said after the win at Chepauk.

Skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto waged a lone battle for the visitors with a sparkling 82 (127b, 8x4, 3x6), but there was hardly any meaningful support for him from his colleagues.
