Sachin Tendulkar, unarguably one of the greatest the game has ever seen, made his international debut for India 30 years ago on this day. Playing against the likes of Wasim Akram, Imran Khan and Waqar Younis, the right-hander scored just 15 in his first-ever innings for the country. Incidentally, he was clean bowled by another Test debutant, Waqar Younis, in that match.
Since his debut innings, Tendulkar went on to create several international records for team India. From playing 200 Tests to scoring 100 international centuries, from becoming the highest run-getter to winning 2011 Cricket World Cup, Tendulkar has achieved almost everything there is to be achieved. On the day of Tendulkar’s 30th anniversary in Indian cricket, the cricketing world took to Twitter to commemorate the occasion.
Here, we look at some of the Twitter reactions of the cricketing world on Sachin’s international debut.
The former cricketer is also active on his social media account and congratulates team India whenever he gets the chance. Tendulkar recently took to Twitter to congratulate the Indian team for their series win over Bangladesh. Check out his tweet below.
