Sachin Tendulkar's magnificent statue unveiled at Wankhede Stadium ahead of IND vs SL ODI WC game
The statue has been installed by the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA). This magnificent sculpture has been positioned next to the Sachin Tendulkar Stand.
IND vs SL: On the eve of India's ODI World Cup match against Sri Lanka, a life-sized statue of the iconic cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, famously known as the "Master Blaster," was unveiled at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium. The visually stunning statue, which had been previewed the day before, is a remarkable work of art that beautifully captures the essence of the legendary batsman. In the statue, Sachin is depicted in the midst of his signature and graceful over-the-top stroke, a reflection of his elegant batting style.

The statue has been installed by the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA). This magnificent sculpture has been thoughtfully positioned next to the revered Sachin Tendulkar Stand, symbolically connecting the cricketing maestro with the venue where he crafted countless unforgettable moments throughout his illustrious career. It is the same ground where Tendulkar played his last international game - a Test match against the West Indies. Tendulkar also won his maiden ODI World Cup trophy at the same venue in 2011.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and former BCCI President Sharad Pawar were also present at the ceremony. BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla and Secretary Jay Shah was also seen standing alongside the dignitaries at the time of the unveiling.
India to take on Sri Lanka in their next CWC 2023 clash
India are all set to lock horns against Sri Lanka in their seventh ODI World Cup 2023 match on November 2. The match will take place at the Wankhede Stadium, where both sides played the final of the 2011 World Cup, which India won.
