James Anderson's glorious cricketing career has finally come to an end. Fondly, known as Jimmy, Anderson is a stalwart of the game and will go down as one of the greatest ever to play the game of cricket. England are currently taking on West Indies in the first Test of the three-match series which was also Jimmy's last game for the three lions. Sachin Tendulkar's Heartwarming Post For Anderson
Prior to his last Test match, Anderson was asked about the best batsman he has ever bowled to. The English great without any hesitation mentioned Sachin Tendulkar's name. Anderson dismissed Sachin a total of 9 times in his career. Talking about the greats of the game, Anderson is the third highest wicket-taker in the history of Test matches. With 704 wickets, Anderson is only behind greats like Shane Warne and Muthiah Muralidaran.
After Anderson, bowed out of the final Test of his career, master blaster Sachin Tendulkar shared a heartfelt note for the right-handed seamer. 'Hey Jimmy! You've bowled the fans over with that incredible 22-year spell. Here's a little wish as you bid goodbye. It has been a joy to watch you bowl - with that action, speed, accuracy, swing and fitness. You've inspired generations with your game. Wish you a wonderful life ahead with good health and happiness as you put those new shoes on for the most important spell of your life - the time with family.', wrote Sachin on his X (formerly known as Twitter).
A Career To Remember For James Anderson
James Anderson whose career spans over two decades will go down as one of the greatest pace bowlers of all time. Anderson might have fancied his chances to go past the great Shane Warne's Test wicket tally, but a fiery performance from compatriot Gus Atkinson has left Anderson on the third spot of highest wicket-takers in Test matches list.
