Who Made The Stumps Feel This Big?: Sachin Tendulkar's Epic Roast Of Bucknor's LBWs Breaks Internet
Legendary Indian batter, Sachin Tendulkar, has made a cryptic post, asking fans to guess the name of the umpire, who made a stump feel as big as a tree.
In the career span of over two decades, Sachin Tendulkar played a plethora of memorable innings but also got dismissed in some peculiar ways. Since the DRS was introduced when he was in the twilight of his career, the umpire's call used to be the final call in his time. Thus, many times he was subjected to a wrong decision by the on-field official. Ostensibly highlighting the same, the legendary Indian batter has made a sensational post, asking fans to guess the name of the umpire, who made stumps feel as big as a tree.
Sachin Tendulkar Leaves a Query For The Fans To Answer
Having been at the wrong end of an LBW quite a few times, Sachin Tendulkar has made a social media post out of nowhere, seemingly reflecting on the same, and putting the umpire who got it wrong under the focal point. The Master Blaster has posted a picture of himself, shadow batting in front of the huge trunks of three trees. Labelling the boles as stumps, Tendulkar asks, "Which umpire made the stumps feel this big?"
Fans Speculate It Was Steve Bucknor
The avid followers did not hold back from writing the former umpire Steve Bucknor's name. The retired official wrongly adjudged Sachin Tendulkar lbw on a number of occasions, the most popular case of the same emanated at the Gabba in 2003, when Jason Gillespie's delivery was nowhere close to stumps, yet the Jamaican raised his finger.
Fans recalled the episode and flooded the comment section of Sachin Tendulkar, unanimously citing Steve Bucknor as the answer to his query.
One another instance that left cricket fans startled by the umpire's decision was when Sachin Tendulkar ducked a short-pitched ball bowled by Glenn McGrath during the 1999-2000 India vs Australia series, but it did not bounce as he would have anticipated, hitting his left arm. As Tendulkar was standing just in front of the wickets, a huge appeal ensued and it was given out by the umpire Daryl Harper. Hence, umpire Harper could also be behind the wondering shared by Tendulkar.
After gracing the game for 24 years, Sachin Tendulkar retired with copious records. Scoring over 33000 runs and registering 100 international centuries are the most striking of the many. However, one could only contemplate, how more astonishing figures he would have amassed had he not been given out wrongly on so many occasions. Nevertheless, Sachin Tendulkar's legacy is cemented and he will forever hold the stature of a great.
