As the second T20 witnessed Australia thump over Sri Lanka to emerge victorious by 9 wickets, Sri Lanka, in the misery that they are, failed to grab on to another chance dramatically. The drama unfolded in the 13th over of the second innings where Smith and Warner were comfortably chasing down mere target of 118 runs. In the 13th over, David Warner smashed Sandakan's ball right back at the non-striker's wicket which the bowler soon collected and picked stumps in an attempt to run Steve Smith, who was far away from the crease, out. However, an error from the Lankan bowler saw him dislodge the wicket with one hand with the ball being another hand. As a result, the third umpire had to rule in Australia's favour declaring Steve Smith not out.
