Shikhar Dhawan will go down in Indian and world cricket history as one of the greatest white-ball openers. From 2013 to 2019, the India southpaw stood toe-to-toe with his compatriot and India's Test and ODI skipper Rohit Sharma at the top of the order and scored heaps of runs for India. In this period, the trio of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan led Team India to many memorable victories.

The duo of Rohit and Shikhar might not have been as explosive as a Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow, but lets not forget the fact that India in those six years did not enjoy the luxury of batting deep and having explosive hitters. Much to Shikhar Dhawan's misfortune, his bat stopped talking gradually and on most of the occasions, he found himself out of the team, but that doesn't contradict the fact that Dhawan can't be counted as one of the greats of the game.
