Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar was all praises for India after their comprehensive win over Bangladesh in the third T20 at Nagpur on Sunday. Hailing Team India as the ' boss', Shoaib Akhtar said that Bangladesh had managed to outsmart India in the first game and grab a win but had fallen short after Rohit Sharma went berserk in the second game. The former Pakistan pacer said that Bangladesh was a team to beat and that they were not the same team from ten years ago who could be taken lightly. However, Shoaib Akhtar said that India had shown Bangladesh who the boss was in the third game and completing a 2-1 series win.
Shoaib Akhtar heaps praise on Deepak Chahar
The Rawalpindi Express heaped praise on Deepak Chahar for his exceptional figures of 6-7, the best figures in the T20I format. Shoaib Akhtar said that he had enjoyed watching Deepak Chahar's brutal spell and was soon planning to make an in-detail analysis of the youngster's bowling. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Shoaib Akhtar said that he had missed out on watching KL Rahul perform and was in eager anticipation to see him click away. Shoaib Akhtar lauded Shreyas Iyer and said that he was an apt middle-order batsman for India. However, Shoaib Akhtar was of the opinion that India must play Virat Kohli in the T20s in order to increase the strength of the batting order. Shoaib Akhtar also said that youngsters in the team thrive better if the team environment was good and said that the youngsters felt more confident if the senior players mentored them. Addressing Rishabh Pant, Shoaib Akhtar said that the wicketkeeper-batsman must improve on his review skills. Shoaib Akhtar said that the Indian team was very well capable of upsetting Australia in the T20 World Cup next year.
Deepak Chahar headlines the India vs Bangladesh 3rd T20
Deepak Chahar, playing only 7th T20I, picked up the wickets of Liton Das and Soumya Sarkar in his first over, that put the brakes on Bangladesh’s chase. He returned to bowl his second in the 13th over, picking up the wicket of Mohammad Mithun, thus ending a 98-run stand. The Rajasthan bowler came back at the death, picking up the first-ever hat-trick by an Indian in T20Is en-route recording the best ever figures in T20I cricket. Earlier, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul led India’s charge helping them reach 174/5, which in the end proved too much for Bangladesh after Deepak Chahar’s brilliance.
