Shoaib Akhtar says he was offered $1 mil, S-Class Mercedes to fix game
Shoaib Akhtar recalls how a bookie had once offered him $1 million, two S-Class Mercedes and an apartment in UK's Fulham to fix a match and how he thrashed him.

Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar has made yet another startling revelation about match-fixing in cricket. Akhtar recently left many surprised by opening up on the match-fixing culture within Pakistan cricket. In the last couple of decades, Pakistan cricket has been hit numerous times due to the match-fixing scandals.
One of the biggest match-fixing scandals that shook the cricketing community took place in 2010 when three Pakistani players Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Amir and the-then captain Salman Butt were caught in match-fixing. Pakistan were touring England with Shoaib Akhtar also being a part of the team. He recently gave an insight on just how widespread match-fixing was within the team.
While talking to a Pakistani journalist, the Rawalpindi Express revealed that a bookie had once offered him $1 million, two S-Class Mercedes and an apartment in UK's Fulham to fix a match. He added that he closed the door of the room where the bookie approached him and gave him a beating. Akhtar had recently claimed that he was surrounded by match-fixers in Pakistan team.

Shoaib Akhtar revealed during a talk show that he always believed that he could never cheat Pakistan, no match-fixing but he was surrounded by match-fixers. He said he was playing against 21 players, 11 of the opposition and 10 of his. He added that there was so much match-fixing in Pakistan cricket which he was unaware of and recalled how Asif had once told him about all matches they had fixed and how they managed to do it.
