Now that Shreyas Iyer has picked up an injury and is set to miss Mumbai's next Ranji game, will KKR retain him ahead of IPL 2025 auction? While not retaining him would be an unpopular choice after he led the franchise to the title in 2024, but such is IPL . There are also several reports on social space that claims that Iyer may be released. While not much can be confirmed, it would be interesting to see what happens to him. Iyer, who is a middle-order batter, has suffered a significant setback in his bid to make a comeback to the Indian Test team. He has been ruled out of Mumbai's next Ranji Trophy game due to a shoulder injury, which will keep him out of action for at least a week. This development comes just days after the stylish right-handed batter scored a century in Mumbai's convincing nine-wicket win over Maharashtra

PROBABLE RETNTIONS

Rinku Singh: The left-handed finisher has been the shining star for the Knight Riders over the past two seasons. He has the ability to finish games and is someone who can also bat anywhere as per the situation. Given his age, Rinku is likely to be retained by KKR.

Sunil Narine: The mystery spinner has been a part of KKR for more than a decade. He has been a serial match-winner for the side - with the bat and the ball. He has also been part of all the three winning campaigns for the franchise. He is certainly going to be retained.

Andre Russell: The allrounder will be another player KKR would like to hold onto. Russell is a proven match-winner and releasing him would be a massive risk. Will KKR risk it, doesn't seem like.
