Sourav Ganguly acknowledges and values Harbhajan Singh's contribution
Sourav Ganguly thanked Harbhajan Singh for having complimented him after he was elected as the BCCI President. Dada also valued Bhajji's contribution to India.

Former Indian captain and Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) Sourav Ganguly, filed his nomination for the post of BCCI president on Monday. 'Dada' as he is famously known as, will soon take charge over of the BCCI as its President as he was elected unopposed. One of Sourav Ganguly's former Indian team-mates who was also one among his go-to bowlers during their playing days, Harbhajan Singh came forward to congratulate his former skipper. Taking to the micro-blogging site, Bhajji told Ganguly that he is a leader who empowers others to be a leader and wished him all the best going forward.

Ganguly seeks Bhajji's support
After having read his good friend's tweet, Sourav Ganguly thanked Harbhajan Singh and told him that he needed Bhajji's support in the same manner in which he had bowled from one end for India to win matches.

Sourav Ganguly to be elected unanimously
Sourav Ganguly had filed his nomination for the post on Monday and will be elected unanimously for the position. After filing his nomination, Sourav Ganguly said that his priority is to look at the first-class cricket in the country. Ganguly though has time only till July 2020 when his term ends due to mandatory cooling-off period according to the new rules set down by the Supreme Court. As per the rules, an administrator can only serve for six years in a row. Ganguly has been holding various positions in the CAB for the last five years.

Sourav Ganguly made some big statements while addressing the media on Monday. When asked about the speculations of who had a role in making him the frontrunner, Dada said that he had never expressed his aspirations. "I had never expressed my aspirations for this position. There were senior people in the team. I have never spoken to anyone, I had never expressed that I was keen", said Ganguly. The ex-captain also added that 90% of the representatives in the BCCI at the moment are new. "Till 10:30 in the night, I was not aware till I was told that I need to be the president and take this association forward along with Jay (Shah), Arun, the vice-president, the apex council members, and the joint secretary."
