Former India captain Sourav Ganguly has shared his thoughts on Andhra all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, saying that the team should figure out how to incorporate Reddy into the game, arguing that he deserves a chance under certain conditions. The former India skipper also pointed out that there was no need to have two specialist spin bowlers in the Perth and Gabba tests, and they needed to present Reddy with the chance.
"Look, there is absolutely no point in playing two specialist spinners either at Perth (Optus) or at the Gabba (Brisbane). You obviously need to find a way to play Reddy in these conditions. He is a good batsman and coming in at lower middle order, it will lend proper balance to the side," former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly said while speaking to PTI.

Under Gautam Gambhir, Nitish Kumar Reddy is seen as a hot prospect after he proves his worth in T20Is and IPL . After Hardik Pandya 's denial to play red-ball cricket, Team India needs a pace bowling all-rounder. That is where the Andhra cricketer fits in the test cricket system.
However, the feeling isn't the same among all the former cricketers as Dodda Ganesh called out Gautam Gambhir's plans. The veteran believes that Nitish Reddy is still undercooked to be a part of the longest format.
"Either pick a genuine bowler, or go with a genuine batter if you feel the batting needs to be bolstered. This fast tracking of Nitish Reddy for tests serves no purpose. He is still undercooked to be playing the longer format," Dodda Ganesh tweeted on 'X' [Formerly known as Twitter].
