Sourav Ganguly: Cricket fraternity reacts to new BCCI chief on Twitter
Sourav Ganguly will take over as the President of the BCCI on October 23. Twitter erupts in joy with wishes pouring in from fans and cricketing fraternity.
Former India captain Sourav Ganguly will take over as the President of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on October, 23.
Here is look at his tweet:
Ganguly is renowned for bringing Indian cricket out of a tough phase in the early 2000s when they suffered from a massive match-fixing scandal. Not only did he ensure Indian cricket's safety but it also took it to greater heights by backing more young players and instilling a strong belief in the team that they can win anywhere in the world across all formats of the game. With fans sceptical about BCCI's image, the former Indian captain emerges as arguably the best candidate to take charge.
The incumbent president of the BCCI said that his first priority will always be to look after first-class cricketers. He claimed that he had earlier requested the COA to do so but they did not pay heed to his suggestions. His immediate focus will be on the Ranji Trophy and financial interests of cricketers participating in it. The appointment of Ganguly as BCCI President was welcomed with excitement as fans and cricketing fraternity flooded Twitter with wishes
