Gautam Gambhir to stay with KKR? Latest comments dampens hopes of him succeeding Rahul Dravid
Former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir has been one of the leading names to succeed Rahul Dravid as the coach of the Indian Cricket Team after the completion of the T20 World Cup. Gambhir is currently the mentor for KKR, and the IPL franchise has been a dominant force since his arrival. He has been a strong contender in the race to take over the coaching job, but his recent comments he made during an appearance on Sportskeeda may suggest the contrary that Gambhir will stay with the Kolkata Knight Riders.
"If you ask me, we are still two trophies away from Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. Yes, I'm happy and content today. But again, the hunger is still there, and we are yet to become the most successful franchise in IPL. To become that, we have to win the trophy three more times. You have to work really hard to win it thrice. So, the next mission is -- if we can make KKR the best-ever team -- there is no better feeling than that," Gambhir revealed.

Gambhir's eagerness to elevate KKR as the strongest force is justified, but it may dampen the hopes of him leading the senior men's National side in the future. It is yet to be seen whom will the BCCI select as the successor of Rahul Dravid.
