Team India wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul recently visited a temple and sought the blessings of Lord Ganesha before heading to the Delhi Capitals camp. The India stumper recently came off a strong finish at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, where he played a vital role in the team's middle order. After coming off a successful run in Dubai, KL will be heading to the Delhi Capitals camp now, where he will be playing his first season after being a part of the Lucknow Super Giants in the past few seasons.
KL Rahul has shaped himself into a credible cricketer in Team India's Test and ODI format after delivering credible performances in BGT as well as at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. KL gave intense competition for the wicketkeeper-batter position to Rishabh Pant, which he eventually won and started all the games for the Men in Blue. The Indian stumper will be heading off for his next assignment in IPL 2025, where he will be a part of the Delhi Capitals in the upcoming season.
In a video which has gone viral over social media, KL Rahul could be seen at a temple, where he is performing puja and seeking the blessings of Lord Ganesha. The Indian stumper brings out his religious avatar before he heads off to take upon a new challenge in the IPL.
The Delhi Capitals have announced their new leader, with India all-rounder Axar Patel being named as the new leader. He will be succeeding Rishabh Pant, who is now a part of the Lucknow Super Giants. KL Rahul was one of the top choices among the fans since he had proper captaincy experience while leading DC in the past. With Axar's appointment, there was hope that KL would be made as the vice-captain.
However, the IPL franchise went the other way and selected former RCB skipper Faf du Plessis as the new vice-captain ahead of the IPL 2025 season.
With no captaincy pressure whatsoever, KL would be focusing on delivering runs in the middle-order and honing his skills behind the stumps.
