The players' performance will help the BCCI selectors determine the squad for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh at home. Before the tournament's commencement, it was revealed that India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja had been released from the team. Moreover, Mohammed Siraj and Umran Malik will also miss out on the tournament's first-round matches because of illness and have been replaced. But there is no word on Jadeja's release.The red-ball tournament will commence on September 5, 2024, with matches taking place in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh and the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
