Suryakumar Yadav's Red-ball Return in Jeopardy? T20i Skipper Suffers Injury Scare at Buchi Babu Invitational
Team India's T20I skipper, Suryakumar Yadav, is in action with the MCA for the Buchi Babu Tournament. MCA faced off against TNCA XI, and on Day 3 of the tournament, SKY injured his finger when he attempted to dive and stop the ball with both hands. On Day 3 of the competition, Suryakumar was in the leg slip position, and TNCA batter Pradosh Ranjan Paul hit Musheer Khan's leg-stump delivery towards the India batter. He could not stop it despite his diving attempt and hurt himself in the process. The India batter's right hand was in pain and was attended to by the medical staff on the pitch.
The BCCI has offered no updates on Suryakumar Yadav's injury, which may indicate that the hand injury may not be serious. Given that Duleep Trophy is just a few days away, SKY needs to make a prompt decision upon his participation in the domestic tournament as he eyes a return to the longest format of the game.

Before the beginning of the Buchi Babu tournament, Suryakumar Yadav was quite ecstatic about making a comeback in red-ball cricket, which is why he took part in the Buchi Babu tournament and the Duleep Trophy, which will commence India's domestic red-ball season. With the Bangladesh series up next for Team India, SKY's performance will be critical, as the selectors will determine the entire team based on the cricketer's performance in the domestic tournament. Suryakumar Yadav is a part of Team C of the first round of the Duleep Trophy, and it is yet to be seen whether the T20I skipper will be available for the domestic tournament.
