In the video shared on Sunday, the dynamic batter showcased his funny side before kicking off his running session. Suryakumar Yadav lip-synced a famous dialogue from a movie to create his funny reel on social media. Suryakumar Yadav captioned the video, “Giving it all, everyday.”

As Suryakumar Yadav begins his journey as T20I captain on July 27, the spotlight will be on him, especially since he was chosen over Hardik Pandya for the role. Following Rohit Sharma's retirement from T20 Internationals, Hardik Pandya should have been the natural successor since he was the vice-captain during the triumphant T20 World Cup 2024.

However, the newly-appointed head coach of the Indian cricket team made Suryakumar Yadav the captain keeping in mind the next edition of the T20 World Cup in 2026, which India and Sri Lanka will be jointly hosting. Shubman Gill has been appointed the vice-captain of the team for the Sri Lanka series.

IND vs SL

Suryakumar Yadav's leadership skill will be crucial during the India vs Sri Lanka T20I series given that Jasprit Bumrah will be unavailable. The white-ball series between India and Sri Lanka will begin on July 27 with three T20Is. Both sides will also lock horns in a three-match ODI series for which Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be available. Rohit will continue to captain the Indian ODI side. He is expected to lead the Indian cricket team in the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

All of these players were involved in India's recent T20 World Cup victory in the West Indies and the USA. Suryakumar Yadav took that vital catch of David Miller in the final off Hardik Pandya's bowling. Rohit Sharma led the team from the front, scoring runs for India in crucial matches. Virat Kohli finally contributed when he was needed the most. He smashed a crucial 76 runs in the final against South Africa that eventually proved to be the difference in batting between the two sides.

Jasprit Bumrah, the standout performer for India in the T20 World Cup, was rightfully awarded the Player of the Tournament for his exceptional bowling performances. Throughout the tournament, Bumrah consistently delivered whenever captain Rohit Sharma entrusted him with the ball, providing crucial breakthroughs for the team. His phenomenal spell in the final was instrumental in building pressure on the South African batting lineup at a critical juncture, setting the stage for his fellow bowlers to capitalise and secure the victory.
