After losing the tournament opener to Northern Warriors on November 10, the Maratha Arabians came back strongly in their next two games to eventually top Group B. In their last Group B fixture, the Arabians defeated Team Abu Dhabi by 24 runs in a high-scoring game. Skipper Chris Lynn top-scored with an unbeaten 91 off 30 balls and was adjudged as Player-of-the-Match for his herculean effort.

Yuvraj Singh slams KKR over releasing Chris Lynn
Lynn’s heroics with the bat came just days after he was released by his IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders. Chris Lynn was among the 13 players released by the franchise ahead of the December 19 auction in Kolkata. Lynn, however, found some support from his Maratha Arabians teammate Yuvraj Singh.

Speaking on the aftermath of Lynn’s release from KKR, former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh said that the management’s decision to release the Australian was a “bad call”. He joked that he might drop a message to one of KKR’s co-owners on that. Yuvraj also spoke highly about his Maratha Arabians skippers’ whirlwind innings against Team Abu Dhabi. While talking to the reporters after their 24-run victory, the 2011 World Cup-winning member described Lynn’s performance as “outstanding”.
Yuvraj Singh, however, missed out from the Maratha Arabians playing XI due to a back spasm. While speaking about his injury, the 37-year-old said that he was hopeful of making a return to the team for their next game.
