Team India's First Set of Players Depart For BGT; Yashasvi, Akash Deep Among Stars Head To Australia
The first group of players from Team India are leaving for Australia in advance of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, where they will face the Cummins-led side.
The countdown to BGT is rapidly ticking, and it is nearly time, and the premier challenge will take place down under. Team India and Australia will lock horns against each other in what is expected to be a war among both sides. India is fighting for a spot in the World Test Championship Final, as they are now in the number two spot, while the BGT hosts stand at the number one spot. After a historic whitewash, the Men in Blue will look to avoid another embarrassment. Ahead of the series, some squad members have made their way to Australia for the series.

India's Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Among Stars Jet Off To Australia For BGT Series
Ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, Team India's first batch of players are jetting off to Australia for the upcoming series against the Pat Cummins-led side. On Sunday night, some of the team's premier stars were seen at the Mumbai Airport as they were set for their departure to Australia. Team India pace bowlers Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep, all-rounder Washington Sundar, middle-order batter Sarfaraz Khan and opener Yashasvi Jaiswal were a part of the first batch of cricketers who headed down under for the upcoming red-ball series.
Assistant India coach Abhishek Nayar was also a part of the batch as all of them were seen at the airport. Yashasvi acknowledged the fans' appreciation and he was seen signing autographs and shaking the fans' hands before moving into the airport. Since India stars are heading to Australia in two batches, the first set of people have made their way down under for the series.

The Border Gavaskar Trophy series will decide India's fate for the World Test Championship Final after they suffered a humiliating 0-3 series whitewash at home against New Zealand. The first ball of the BGT series will be bowled in Perth's Optus Stadium on November 22, 2024.
