Indian batsman Shubman Gill on Wednesday smashed his maiden T20I century during the third match against New Zealand in Ahmedabad. Gill reached the three-digit mark off just 54 balls as he hit a half-volley delivery from Lockie Ferguson over wide mid-off. Gill now has a century in all formats for India. Gill has become only the seventh Indian cricketer to score a century in T20 Internationals. He has joined Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, KL Rahul, Deepak Hooda, Suryakumar Yadav, and Virat Kohli on the list. Gill finished his knock with an unbeaten score of 126 off 63 balls including 12 boundaries and 7 sixes.

Gill also became the fifth Indian to score a century in all formats for India. He now has the highest individual score for India in T20Is. Earlier, Gill opened the batting alongside Ishan Kishan after India won the toss and opted to bat first. Kishan was dismissed early on in the innings but Gill maintained his cool to reach his maiden T20I half-century off just 35 balls. He then scored another fifty off just 21 deliveries. Netizens are now lauding the 23-year-old for his brilliant knock in the 3rd T20I against New Zealand that has helped India breach the 200-run mark.
