Trent Boult to represent Mumbai Indians in the next edition of IPL, details here

Trent Boult has been one of the best pacers as well as a lethal left-arm bowler in modern-day cricket. He has won many matches for New Zealand with his fiery pace and has played an instrumental part in the Black Caps' successes in 2015 and 2019 World Cups respectively where they made it to the finals. This year, the star Kiwi pacer had got the better of the Indian skipper Virat Kohli on multiple occasions. It started when India had toured New Zealand earlier this year and it mattered the most when Kohli was trapped in front of the wicket in the World Cup 2019 semi-final early on as India were reduced to 5/3 and eventually exited from the tournament. Meanwhile, Boult has been roped in by Mumbai Indians.

Trent Boult joins Mumbai Indians

Trent Boult has been roped in by Mumbai Indians which is the most successful IPL franchise with a record four title wins. The news has been confirmed by Mumbai Indians on their official Twitter handle. 

Boult has represented three teams in the Indian Premier League so far. His IPL career started back in 2015 when he was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad where he was associated for two years. The speedster was also a part of the SRH squad that had won its maiden title in 2016. Boult was then bought by Kolkata Knight Riders in the following year and was not retained in the next auctions. In the last two editions, Trent Boult had represented Delhi Capitals.

Trent Boult's cricketing career

Trent Boult who had made his international debut in 2011 has represented New Zealand in 63 Tests, 89 One Day Internationals and 27 T20Is. In the World Cup final that was played at Lord's earlier this year, Boult had taken a difficult catch of Ben Stokes when the match was hanging in the balance. Unfortunately for him, the catch was taken on the boundary and it cost his side six runs. The match was tied and even the super over was tied as well where Boult had given away 15 runs. In the end, England went on to lift their maiden World Cup as a result of the boundary count rule.
